If you have ever been to the gym, you will surely have seen a lot of sports enthusiasts drink a shake after the workout. What is that? It's a protein shake. Most athletes drink it to "feed" their muscles, because protein powder brings the muscle metabolism on high tours and makes them grow. With protein powder, you can build muscle mass better. No fat as with too many carbohydrates.

Is protein powder an absolute must?

As a rule, our body does not necessarily need protein powder, since we can also cover the need for proteins easily via a balanced diet. A healthy person should consume about 0.9 grams of proteins per kilogram of body weight per day. We create a balanced diet. However, if you are doing sports, you are attracted to your muscles, which then get appetite for proteins. Now it is therefore sensible to take a portion of proteins.

Which protein powder is the best?

If you are strolling through the shelves in the supermarket, you will soon notice that you are literally slaughtered by the protein powder offer. And the Internet also offers a huge selection of protein powder. Here I would like to compare the most widely used protein powders and compare their advantages and disadvantages:

❍ whey protein (whey):

The greatest offer is probably the supply of so-called whey proteins, also called Whey. These are proteins that are found in milk. The milk and the carbohydrates were almost deprived of the milk, leaving only the purest form of whey protein. What's special about Whey is that it lets the amino acid level in the blood flow quickly after the intake and provides the muscles thus just material when they need it.

Hemp seeds consist of about 20 percent protein. The special feature: Hemp protein contains all amino acids essential for humans, which the human body can not build up itself and which therefore has to consume with the food. Among these are also amino acids, which are particularly good for muscle building. The best thing is that the protein contained in hemp seed can be easily converted into body-borne proteins by our bodies without leaving "waste". A key advantage over whey protein: Hemp protein not only provides a lot of protein, essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins, it also provides fiber. These are often not contained in whey protein and can lead to digestive problems. This does not happen to you with hemp protein, since all ingredients boost the protein metabolism and optimize the digestion of protein. In addition, they provide a long saturation feeling and thus prevent you from eating too much during a diet.

By the way:
You do not need to be afraid of a psychoactive effect. Hemp protein is obtained from industrial hemp, which contains only an insignificant amount (less than 1 percent) of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). According to the consumer center NRW e.V., you also do not have to fear that the consumption of cannabis can lead to a positive drug test.

Conclusion:

If you want to consume protein powder to build muscle mass, then you prefer to use hemp protein. It is richer in vitamins and minerals than whey protein and contains dietary fibers that ensure good digestion. In addition, with a sufficient supply of dietary fibers, you can have chronic diseases, e.g. Cardiovascular disease, arthritis and diabetes mellitus.

I kept my eyes open and watched for hemp protein. I have not seen it in any shop yet. But you do not have to go back to whey protein. For example, you can order hemp protein from Vitaminexpress.
